GEORGE PLEDGES TO CONTINUE FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE

Candidate for Governor Tom George, M.D. (State Senate-20th District, R-Kalamazoo) reiterated his support of transparency by government officials and candidates for elected office.

Candidate for Governor Tom George, M.D. (State Senate-20th District, R-Kalamazoo) reiterated his support of transparency by government officials and candidates for elected office. In response to demands for immediate disclosure by an opposing campaign, George offered the statement:

“I appreciate any effort, large or small, to increase transparency in government. I released my personal financial information last year and plan to this year when it is ready. However, because I still maintain employment in the private sector, my tax returns are slightly more complicated, as anyone with a job outside of government would know. In the meantime, I remain focused on my duties as an elected official and especially my efforts to bring about meaningful health care reform and revitalization to our inner cities.”
