MRP: GOP Gubernatorial Debates scheduled for June and July
The Michigan Republican Party will host two additional Republican gubernatorial candidate debates on June 24 and July 13. Senator Tom George, M.D. will participate in the debate.
The Michigan Republican Party will host two additional Republican gubernatorial candidate debates on June 24 and July 13. Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Mike Cox, Senator Tom George, M.D., and Congressman Pete Hoekstra will participate in the debate.
DeVos-Loosemore Auditorium on the downtown Grand Rapids campus of Grand Valley State University is the site for the June 24 debate, which will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on WOOD TV 8. 24 Hour News 8 Political Reporter and host of To The Point, Rick Albin, will serve as moderator for this social media themed debate. Residents around the state will be able to submit questions to 24 Hour News 8 prior to the debate for consideration.
Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University is the site for the July 13 debate which will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. on WDIV Local 4. Devin Scillian, WDIV Local 4 anchor and host of Flashpoint will serve as moderator.
“We are pleased to have two more debates for residents across the state to become familiar with the Republican gubernatorial candidates,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser. “The first debate in April provided for a wonderful exchange of ideas. We are looking forward to giving the candidates two more opportunities for voters to hear directly about the candidates plans to Fix Michigan.
The MRP Gubernatorial Debates are ticketed events. Residents interested in attending encouraged to contact the candidates for ticket information.
